Schöner Saisonabschluss am Gardasee. Der Wettergott war uns zu dieser späten Jahreszeit am Gardasee wohl gesonnen und brachte Sommer Sonne Sonnenschein und natürlich Wind!
01.10.2021 | Tom Slingsby gewann die WM beeindruckend
Bei einer so stark besetzten WM 13 der insgesamt 14 Wettfahrten zu gewinnen ist eine absolut unglaubliche und beeindruckende Leistung. Denn schließlich waren andere Größen des Segelsports wie Iain Jensen, Paul Goodison, Kyle Langford, Checco Bruni, Phil Robertson, Nathan Outteridge und Kai Adolph wirklich hoffnungslos chancenlos! Chapeau Slingers!

13.07.2021 | Die Worlds in Malcesine finden wie geplant statt
Wegen der Coronaeinschränkungen stand die für Ende August/Anfang September geplante Weltmeisterschaft in Frage. Zur Diskussion stand u.a. eine "Reduzierung" auf eine EM, da ja Segler aus einigen Ländern nur eingeschränkt teilnehmen können. Außerdem wurde der Zeitraum mit ermäßigtem Meldegeld verlängert.

here is the counting on Worlds maintaining the status in 2021:
14 Countries voted , 11 in favour (ARG,AUT,FRA;GER,IRL,NED,JAP,NZL,SUi;POR,USA), 3 not in favour (AUS,GBR,SWE) plus ITA abstained.
The class has a system in the constitution to weigh the votes depending on national membership numbers. The weighted outcome is 36 to 14.
Spain Bid for 2022 Europeans is also approved.
We are moving forward with the Moth Worlds event as scheduled. I spoke with the club and they will maintain the lower rate registration fee (380 Euro) till the end of the month. We will post the info on class socials.
While we are optimistic about the Covid-Vaccination-Travel situation at the moment we all know things may change at short notice (Delta variant for example) and we will of course keep monitoring and advising about the event status.
Please note IMCA will run a women's dedicated camp on the week before the Worlds (Aug 23rd to 29th). The camp is for current Moth owners but we will also have 2-4 boats for women willing to try out with a dedicated coach. More details to follow in the next few days.
